Hello! My name is Tay-Lor Smith. I am a two-time Hampton alumna. I graduated with my Master of Arts in Community Mental Health Counseling. I am currently a board-certified licensed professional counselor and clinical supervisor in the state of Virginia. I am currently working for LifeStance Health, Inc., as a therapist, clinical lead, and diversity, equity, and inclusion coordinator. I have seven years of experience in the mental health profession, including working in crisis, detoxification, residential, community, private practice and corrections. I enjoy working with clients from four years of age and above. I am trained in cognitive behavior therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and trauma informed therapy. My areas of interest are mood disorders, impulse control disorders, personality disorders, stress, adjustment concerns, and relationship issues.
My approach to therapy is to serve as a confidential and unbiased listener and partner to guide, challenge, and motivate my clients to address and change their current life to align with their desired life. We will join forces to address life’s phases and create solutions to ensure mental health, wellness and increase growth.
