Many clients who participate in PHPs have co-occurring disorders and receive dual diagnosis treatment.

IOPs ask clients to engage in at least nine hours of therapy per week, usually in three three-hour sessions.

To offer some of the modern comforts of life, residential bedrooms come equipped with walk-in closets and flat-screen TVs.

Saint Luke’s Behavioral Health Center is a 127-bed facility located in the heart of Phoenix. The health center offers a full spectrum of inpatient and outpatient addiction services for adolescents, adults, and older adults.

For adults ages 18 and older, the inpatient program provides medical detoxification and treatment for addictions involving alcohol, stimulants, opiates, prescription drugs, illicit drugs, or methadone. Staff provides a wide variety of counseling, education, family assessments, therapies, and nutritional services to help clients return to a higher level of functioning.

Other services include group treatment, 12-step introductory sponsorship, relapse prevention, discharge planning, and medication intervention. Daily program activities include goal setting, recreational activities, relaxation techniques, community living, and education on coping mechanisms.

Saint Luke’s Behavioral Health Center also offers outpatient programs that use a combination of 12-step programs and therapy to maintain sobriety.

TLC started in 2012 and has since been helping men and women find long-term recovery from drug and alcohol addiction. All clients are offered housing options to pair with their treatment, but this is not a requirement of the program.

A partial hospitalization program (PHP) is the first step in clients’ journeys to recovery and wellness following detoxification or residential treatment. TLC’s PHP consists of approximately five to six hours a day of programming, five days a week, where clients are able to process and learn more about their disorders. They’ll also develop effective coping skills and increase interpersonal skills and stress tolerance. Art therapy, massage therapy, and case management are some services utilized.

After PHP, a client may move onto intensive outpatient treatment, which consists of three to four hours of programming a day, from three to five days a week.
