It appears that prescription medication abuse is rampant in Kentucky, as nearly every person who died from an overdose had some form of prescription medication in their system. Prescription opioids are among the most abused substances in Kentucky. Government funds and grants have been provided to Kentucky in order to improve current substance abuse facilities and make drug and alcohol treatment more available. This means more state funding and more affordable treatment.
