Finding affordable, quality drug and alcohol rehab can feel very overwhelming. Fortunately, there are a variety of low-cost or free substance abuse treatment facilities in New Mexico.

Free Or Low-Cost New Mexico Rehab Centers

New Mexico has some of the highest drug and alcohol-related deaths in the country. For over 30 years, New Mexico has had the highest alcohol-related deaths. We now know that drug and alcohol abuse is linked to other life-altering problems, such as poverty, homelessness, domestic violence, crime, and many additional health issues.

In 2018, New Mexico received almost $29 million in federal grants dedicated to substance abuse. Of these funds, over $14 million was to be focused on substance abuse treatment. These funds were used to expand existing treatment options, create new locations, update training, and help prevent relapse.

With these increases in funding, facilities are being reimbursed with vouchers, scholarships, private donations, and other payment options that are free or low-cost to the person in treatment.

The following are some of the locations in New Mexico that offer substance abuse treatment for low-cost or free to clients.
