Getting started at Exclusive Hawaii Rehab begins with a phone interview that keeps paperwork minimal before arrival. Once admitted, clients are assessed using ASAM standards to determine the appropriate level of detox support, and a physician evaluates whether detox can be safely managed on-site or requires a hospital stay nearby. The full continuum of care includes medically supervised detox, residential inpatient treatment in 30-day increments, intensive outpatient programs, and extended care housing. The program treats addiction, mental health conditions, eating disorders, and co-occurring mental health disorders for adults 18 and older.
Only eight beds are available, and clients have access to private or semi-private rooms, some with private lanais, along with a cozy living room, outdoor spaces, and views of the ocean and Mauna Kea. Executive chefs prepare gourmet meals using organic, non-GMO ingredients sourced from local farmers’ markets, and an on-site naturopathic doctor provides nutritional support including IV infusions like NAD and Myers Cocktails. The program offers behavioral therapy, trauma-focused therapy, and TMS, a brain stimulation treatment for depression and anxiety. Holistic services include surf therapy, equine therapy, acupuncture, massage, meditation, yoga, art therapy, and more. There are also weekly excursions to waterfalls, botanical gardens, and the ocean.
Clients who complete the residential program have the option to transition into extended care housing, which includes daily participation in programming at the main facility while living in a sober environment. The post-rehab phase is framed around what the team calls “Success Defined”, a plan for life after treatment.

The experiential therapy ended up helping me more than I expected. Getting outside, spending time hiking, and disconnecting from my normal routine gave me space to think clearly for the first time in years.
The experiential therapy here really stood out. Activities like surf therapy, hiking, equine sessions, and oceanfront yoga were thoughtfully structured and helped me reconnect in ways traditional therapy didn’t. Only downside was occasional weather-related rescheduling, but overall it was a meaningful experience.

Just wanted to say thanks to the wonderful staff at EHR for helping me reestablish my path in recovery. EHR was a super nice facility, and provided a safe holding environment for me to stabilize and establish a long term plan for success in recovery.
