About Oregon Trail Recovery
The sober living homes at Oregon Trail Recovery are private residential houses set in a quiet suburban setting just outside Portland. Here, clients have access to comfortable communal living spaces, outdoor areas to relax and unwind, cable, and internet throughout their stay. The structured environment includes a 14-day initial period during which electronics are limited, helping new residents settle into early recovery without outside distractions. After this blackout period, clients are gradually reintegrated into normal life.
Oregon Trail Recovery offers both men’s and women’s specific sober living programs, providing gender-separated houses. The program also incorporates Wellbriety, a unique program rooted in Native American traditions that blends 12-step principles with practices like sweat lodges, drumming circles, Pow Wows, and the Medicine Wheel curriculum. Wellbriety was developed by and for Indigenous communities, but Oregon Trail welcomes people of all backgrounds who feel drawn to its holistic approach.
Portland’s location gives residents plenty of activities to partake in on their time off. Nearby options include hiking Forest Park, Mt. Talbert Nature Park, the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry, the Portland Saturday Market, and the city’s well-known food cart scene.
