About Our Hope Associations
Treatment begins with a comprehensive assessment to determine each woman’s clinical needs and develop an individualized treatment plan. Women who require detoxification can enter the Withdrawal Management Unit, where licensed nurses provide 24-hour care under the supervision of an addiction medicine physician. Following detox, many women transition directly into the organization’s 90-day residential treatment program, allowing for continuity of care throughout the recovery process.
Residential treatment combines individual counseling, daily group therapy, trauma-informed care, relapse prevention, life skills development, 12-step participation, family counseling, and holistic therapies such as yoga, reiki, art therapy, and nutrition education. Our Hope also offers specialized programming for pregnant women and mothers, including allowing infants to remain with their mothers during treatment whenever appropriate.
What Makes Our Hope Association Unique?
Our Hope Association is one of Michigan’s addiction treatment providers dedicated exclusively to women. The organization recognizes that women often experience addiction differently than men and offers gender-responsive treatment that addresses trauma, parenting, pregnancy, relationships, and other issues unique to women’s recovery.
The Shaffer Campus also features one of West Michigan’s only programs that seamlessly combines Medicaid-accepting withdrawal management with a long-term residential treatment program for women. Rather than requiring clients to transfer between providers, women can progress from detox directly into residential care within the same organization.
