Sana Lake Recovery Center sits on a private 55-acre lakeside property in Dittmer, Missouri. The resort-like setting gives members access to the lake for fishing and paddle boating, a fully equipped gym, and activities including yoga, meditation, and journaling. A 79-person care team made up of specialized doctors, Master’s-level therapists, and a nutritionist ensures that every member’s well-being is attended to.
Treatment at Sana Lake covers every level of care, from medical detox and inpatient rehab programs to partial hospitalization programs, intensive outpatient programs, sober living, and family programming. The approach is holistic, addressing not just addiction but underlying issues like trauma, depression, anxiety, and sleep disorders using individual therapy, group therapy, and evidence-based treatments.
Sana Lake is known for its comprehensive aftercare support. Once formal treatment ends, PHP, IOP, outpatient therapy, and virtual counseling options are available for individuals who need continued support. Sana Lake’s extended care program provides peer recovery coaching, weekly Members for Life events, and ongoing community connection for up to five years after treatment, giving members a long-term support system.

Inpatient/Residential

Yes, you can use both your cell phone and laptop will getting care at Sana Lake.
Members are welcome to smoke and vape in our outdoor smoking areas, and members are provided with ample breaks to do so.
Family and friends are welcome to visit every Saturday from 1-3pm.
Controlled substances, alcohol, or prescription drugs without a verified prescription; weapons of any kind; any hygiene products containing alcohol; roll-your-own tobacco, nicotine pouches; vapes are allowed but must be brought in original factory packaging; disposable vapes are permitted, however refills are not allowed; small, individually wrapped snacks and candy are allowed, however snacks/food outside of this are not allowed, including protein powders.
We have a very active alumni program called Members for Life that provides free weekly activities and outings (paintball, bowling, hiking, movie nights, etc.) and meetings. We also have our Members Helping Members program which has a variety of groups and meetings throughout the week covering a variety of interests, like fitness/wellness groups, music groups, parenting groups, etc. We also have aftercare meetings that are free weekly meetings.
We do provide programming for members and their families; if a member provides permission, we share updates with loved and family members; We offer weekly visitation and family support groups.
Most notably, we have a full program called New Dawn Family Healing that provides therapy/counseling specifically for people who have been impacted by a loved ones addiction, regardless of whether their loved one is in programming at Sana Lake. Whether their loved one is still in active addiction, is currently in treatment, or is on the road to long-term recovery, New Dawn has individual counseling as well as group counseling available for people of all ages, including adolescents.

Having been to and having worked at multiple treatment centers, I have to say that Sana Lake is the best one I have been to. The staff cares and work their butts off. They were short-staffed when I came, but they were still able to pull it off and gave me a great experience. Great food, too! The owner even comes in multiple times a week and runs a group on Thursdays. He shares his personal life story. You do not get that very often. The nursing staff is very caring as well. I could not sleep for several nights, so the nurse practitioner tweaked my medication several times until we found the right combination. If you’re contemplating going or returning to treatment, you are going to find a better place, in my opinion. I feel that I am ready and finally capable of staying sober long term. Thank you to ALL the staff at Sana Lake.

I am so very Grateful to have had the opportunity to be here at Sana Lake. The staff is absolutely amazing and really sincerely care about you and what you’re going through, and can relate. The facility itself is very nice and comfortable. I’m rather picky but the food is great. They have a gym, boxing, personal training, yoga, and other great amenities. The members have all been wonderful. I have made so many bonds in such a short time, which I didn’t expect even though I am a people person. I know everyone’s name both staff and members and love that we’re all able to support one another . It has been an amazing journey, and I can say that I am the best version of me, and feeling better than I have in the last 27yrs of drinking and using. I would totally recommend Sana Lake to anyone struggling with addiction. If it can work for me, I believe it can work for you…
