Addiction Recovery Care Association (ARCA) provides drug and alcohol addiction rehabilitation services and is nationally accredited by CARF and licensed by the state of North Carolina to treat chemical dependence.

Starting with medically supervised detoxification that can last three to five days, staff can help ease the discomfort associated with withdrawal from drugs and alcohol.

Other services offered through the program at ARCA include:

2-3. Charlotte Rescue Mission

Charlotte Rescue Mission offers Christian-based residential substance abuse treatment at two locations in Charlotte. The program helps residents achieve and maintain sobriety, find jobs, secure housing, and develop healthy relationships.

The two options for men are located within the Rebound Center. This location houses the residential treatment program as well as aftercare services for men.

Women can receive drug and alcohol rehabilitation services at the Dove’s Nest. Dove’s Nest also offers a family program where women are welcome to bring their children while living at the residential facility.

All programs and services offered by Charlotte Rescue Mission are free to residents and their families. There is no cost to those receiving drug and alcohol abuse treatment at either location.

4. Freedom House

A long-term residential substance abuse program that offers treatment to women, while allowing children to remain with their mother during their stay at Freedom House.

Every woman has an individualized treatment plan that is specific to their substance abuse recovery needs. The program is holistic and focuses on nutrition, exercise, spirituality, and emotional needs, in addition to standard addiction rehabilitation services.

Freedom House does not charge for these services. All women and families are provided with drug and alcohol abuse treatment free of charge.

5-8. Legacy Freedom Treatment Centers

Legacy Freedom offers substance abuse treatment at four different locations and all are equipped to provide mental health services for those who have co-occurring diagnoses. This individualized care and case management allow intervention methods to be unique to the individual.

Addressing the underlying issues is one way that Legacy Freedom treats substance abuse and addiction. The holistic approach includes meditation, yoga, nutrition, and many others in addition to traditional addiction treatment methods.

9. Living Free Ministries

The Men’s Regeneration Program that is offered through Living Free Ministries offers substance abuse treatment through the lens of the individual’s relationship with God. This substance abuse treatment program is considered an alternative to traditional chemical dependence rehabilitation.

This program is divided into three phases that last ten weeks. The entire Regeneration Program can be completed in seven months.

Living Free Ministries provides this Regeneration Program for free. There is no cost to clients who choose to attend.

10. Mary’s House

Mary’s House provides substance abuse treatment in a transitional housing environment to women recovering from drug or alcohol abuse. This location allows residents to bring their children into the treatment program with them while receiving services.

Up to eight families can reside at Mary’s House at any given time. Priority enrollment is given to pregnant women in need of substance abuse treatment.

After completion of treatment, residents receive assistance to transition back into the community by grants supplied from state and federal funding options.

There is no cost for admission into the Mary’s House Program.
