2. Council for Alcohol and Drug Abuse Services, Inc. (CADAS)

CADAS is a comprehensive substance abuse treatment provider. Services are available to people of all ages and all stages of recovery. CADAS acknowledges and addresses the additional issues that can sometimes come along with a substance abuse problem by offering programs, counseling, and workshops.

The following options are available through CADAS:

  • Adult Residential provides a 28-day inpatient program for adults with substance abuse or dependence. There are 56-beds available in this unit.
  • Scholze Center operates as an adolescent residential treatment facility for teens who are struggling with addiction or substance abuse. Scholze Center can provide services for up to 40 youths, ages 13 to 18.
  • Intensive Outpatient is an option for those who are unable to commit to residential treatment, or those who have already completed an inpatient program and have decided to continue services.
  • Oasis is a sober living community that can house up to 38 total individuals, 13 beds for women and 25 beds for men. Room and board are provided the first two weeks, and a nominal fee is required afterward.
  • Day Treatment provides structured recovery services during the day with residential clients, and participants return home in the evening.
  • Medically Supervised Detox is offered by a certified addictionologist in a constantly monitored environment.
  • Family Way consists of two duplexes where women can live with their children or while pregnant and receive substance abuse rehabilitation.
  • Samaritan House is a residential program for men struggling with homelessness who are in the early stages of recovery.

According to its mission statement, CADAS intends to provide substance abuse treatment to clients regardless of ability to pay.

3. Grace House of Memphis

The services offered at Grace House of Memphis treat women struggling with substance abuse and addiction. They offer a continuum of care that begins with an evaluation and follows each participant through to outpatient services upon completion of the residential program.

Each women receiving substance abuse treatment works with staff to develop a treatment plan and many of the following options are offered:

  • addiction assessments
  • social detox
  • long-term residential
  • halfway housing
  • intensive outpatient (IOP)
  • relapse prevention
  • family support services
  • vocational training options
  • housing assistance

A case manager is assigned to help each woman navigate through these changes with them, and treatment plans are adjusted on an as-needed basis.

4. Ridgeview Psychiatric Hospital and Center – Campbell

Ridgeview offers a program referred to Substance-abuse Treatment Outpatient Program or STOP. This program is intended as a step down from a more intensive drug and alcohol rehabilitation location, or as a resource for someone who is looking to reduce the risk associated with their substance abuse.

Ridgeview is a fully functioning behavioral health and substance abuse hospital with a number of additional resources if the client requires more intensive treatment than STOP offers.

Outpatient services at Ridgeview are affordable, as an income-based sliding scale is used to determine the individual costs. Cost of treatment can be reduced completely, making it free to some.

5. Tony Rice Center for Men

Offering both a long-term residential and an outpatient substance abuse treatment program, the Tony Rice Center for Men is ready to help those struggling with addiction. The main approach includes philosophies of twelve-step programs.

This location uses a sliding scale to determine cost to clients, and also has federal funding for those that meet criteria for indigency. This will make treatment free and low-cost for those who qualify.
