Ways To Access Free Rehab Services In Indiana

Indiana has made fighting drug addiction a priority, which means they’ve worked hard to make treatment more affordable and accessible. The good news is that there are now many different ways to get free or low-cost addiction treatment in the state.

Healthy Indiana Plan (HIP)

The Healthy Indiana Plan is Indiana’s own insurance program that pays for medical costs, including addiction treatment, for people who qualify. To get HIP coverage, you need to be an Indiana resident between ages 19 and 64, and your income must be under certain limits: $20,121 if you’re single, $27,218 for a couple, or $41,400 for a family of four.

Federal Grant Programs

The federal government also helps states fight substance abuse by providing money for treatment programs. The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) gives out grants to help cover addiction treatment costs. The biggest one is called the Substance Use Prevention, Treatment, and Recovery Services Block Grant, and Indiana gets a portion of this money each year. The state uses these federal funds for rehab centers that offer free treatment to residents who can’t afford to pay on their own.

Indiana state-funded rehab centers are also available for residents who may not be able to afford treatment on their own.

Are There Other Low-Cost Drug Rehab Options In Indiana?

If you do not qualify for HIP or federal grant money, there are other options for free and low-cost drug rehab in Indiana.

Non-Profit Organizations

Many non-profit organizations get money from the government and donations from people who want to help. This funding allows them to offer free or very low-cost treatment to anyone who needs it, regardless of their ability to pay.

Sliding Fee Scale

Some treatment centers use a sliding fee scale, which means they set your treatment cost based on how much money you make each year. This system makes sure you never have to pay more than you can realistically afford based on your income.

Payment Plans

Many rehab centers offer payment plans that let you spread out the cost of treatment over several months instead of paying everything upfront. Each treatment center has different payment plan options, so you can find one that works with your budget.
